As a college student, it's critical to gain experience in the field prior to graduating. We're here to help you find the right internship that allows you to explore all the profession possibilities within your major, what a typical work day is like, and getting a feel for the company environment.
Do you need to find a network of black women in STEM? Need a mentor to help assist you on your career path? Or classes that will teach you how to navigate the corporate maze and allow you to outline your career goals? Our goal is to prepare young women to thrive and be leaders in the world of STEM, which is why we've created our career guidance sector to answer all these questions.
Future Tech Leaders
The journey to create Black women leaders of tomorrow doesn’t end with finding that first job. We will be asking you to become mentors to those coming behind you as we have asked those in the tech field now to provide job shadowing and mentoring.
Those of you who are in corporations may be asked to work with NCWIT to help create an inclusive environment with your department. As well as, creating real opportunities for Black women in tech by starting, owning or investing in tech companies.
To support our mission, we have established the Dawna J. Colbert and John Fitzpatrick Scholarships in Computing Studies. Our goal is to bestow 2 scholarships every year to deserving undergraduate and graduate students studying technology.We invite you to help us change lives and drive much-needed change in the world.
